The 1st Ever F1 Street Night Race

DEAFENING!! DEAFENING!! TOTALLY DEAFENING!!! The World’s first Singapore F1 Nite Race was SUPERB!!!! Down right superb and marvelous!!!

If anybody told you that F1 was expensive, don’t listen to that guy. No matter what the price is, it is always a good experience and Juanito bluff you not that you are in for a great time, hell of a life experience…

Each car that passed by, vroooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm………… was deafening. You could hear it from miles away… Well, I exaggerated a little but you could hear it from far away…

This guy must be crazy. Who does he want to support? Kimi is from Finland and he aint driving Mclaren anymore… Well, must be high on booze I guess. The backdrop is Marina Sands in construction.

But then if you listened to the revving of the engine carefully, it sounded more like BROOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM….BOP! BOP!! (You wont hear the bop sound unless they are slowing down to take a corner or bend as a result of gear dropping)

See from 23rd second of the clip onwards

The Esplanade straight right before the Bay Grandstand

I was sitting at the Bay Grandstand, yeah I bought a grandstand seat.. It cost me only SGD400… Yeah only SGD400! I was thinking of getting the main grandstand which cost only SGD1k plus…Nah, I was kidding abt the main grandstand… The ticket is a 3 day pass actually, so given the price for a 3 day pass with a grandstand seat actually is not pricey…

That is the Bay Grandstand

Tried zooming in too much on the Flyer with my N95. The crowd was humongous!!

And if anyone said that only Malaysia takes advantage of the consumers come any prestigious International Event, then have a look at this…. Bloody Stink Singapore is equally bad…  Bloody Tiger cost SGD5.50 when it is retailing at SGD2.50 at Fairprice. Bloody 100%+ hike! If that was not bad enough, look at the other drinks. Also you noticed that the price list was pasted over the original price list..

In fact all the stalls at that area did just that. They had a new price list (which obviously was way more expensive) pasted over the original list… I was damn thirsty and I had to get a drink… The weather was hot and humid coupled with the fact that there were 100 over thousands of people. (No kidding, the est was 170k people). I bought a lime juice and a can of ice cream soda. Guess how much it was? It fucking cost me SGD4.60… Damn you guys!

Bloody queue had me waiting for 10 fine mins to get my drinks

I guess the only thing that didn’t rise in price was the MRT and Taxi fare…

Equipped with my Samsung NV 24HD digital camera and my Nokia N95, here are some of the best shots I could take. Couldn’t do better than that unless someone sponsors me a telescopic camera.. Do you know how fast the cars were moving?

This pic taken with my NV24HD is different from the earlier pic in my earlier post. Had to rezise it bigger so you can see the cars clearer…

As I was saying earlier that I sat at the Bay Grandstand which I carefully chose as the track constitutes of 2 bends and a straight (perhaps with a 100m to 130m distance).. The moment the car maneuvers the 1st bend, it takes the car to reach the other bend whilst passing the 100m odd straight in less than 3 sec. I bluff you not! Look at the clip below

If you still don’t trust me, you can do a rough mathematical calculation here… 1 lap is timed approx 1min and 46seconds for cars like Ferrari and McLaren. 1 lap is distanced 5.1km. Ok, now do the math yourself and tell me how fast does a car go in 1km? Just approx under 29seconds or less.

At 1 point of the race, I guess slightly after 1/3 of the race, I got to view how a F1 car crashes straight into the concrete barricade without killing the driver.. It was LIVE man!! LIVE!!! It all happened at the straight in front of the Bay Grandstand….

Alonso driving away whilst I bet he checked out how his teammate was doing…

Soon after the accident, the safety car was out..

The only best possible shot as the cars have to follow the safety car at a slower speed

The mini crane towing away the wrecked car… Even with the safety car out, imagine the speed of the Ferrari at the background.

I cant paste too many clips as I will be infringing FIA copyrights..hopefully I wont and not…

Oh, and the merchandise didnt come cheap.. 1 bloody Ferrari Cap costs SGD80, the cheapest item on sale was a F1 mug retailing at the circuit for SGD29. Holy crap!!

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

To all my Muslim friends all over the world, whether you are in Africa or South Pole or Russia or Mars, I wish you ‘Selamat Hari Raya’ or a Happy Muslim New Year..

This article was supposed to be the 4th article on Friday, 26th Sept 08 but I refrain myself from posting. I had already posted 3 articles then and I needed some of my readers to grasp what I have written before I start posting again.

Anyways, I am getting utterly pissed with my job as I count down before I leave Kiasuland for good. Problem is I dont even know if I can get a job back in Bodohland aka Bolehland aka Land of Bodohan aka Everything-is-on-sale-land quicker than when I tender my resignation… Sigh man!!

I had a sms exchange with my French Bean boss on Thursday (25th Sept). He was away in KL for some work related matters and he wanted me to help him follow up on some stuff… Obviously, I have to re write the sms exchange here as I cant copy or paste them as gif or jpg (unless I take a camera and photograph the sms screeen but then it will be like 8-10 pictures as that was more or less the number of sms exchanges then)… This is how it went… Damn frustrating at the end…

(I am leaving out the actual names)

Juanito <sent>: W is checking with SB on the additional invoices to bill. His initial estimate is USD700k but he will confirm and let W know only by lunch time.

French Bean <reply>: It should be more like USD740k + USD140k

Juanito: SB claimed that they will close only USD6Million hence there wont be any additional of USD740k or anything around that. Will fwd you the email.

At this instant, French Bean calls me after receiving my sms and tells me that it should be more than USD6Million because the projection given by Mark, the Financial Director was an additional USD740k. Hence the actual amount will be USD6Million + USD740k.. French Bean further mentioned that SB might not be aware that there is an additional USD740k to bill and therefore wants me to talk to the W, Financial Controller as well as the Financial Director to confirm and later on inform SB.

So I spoke to both the W and Mark, and according to them was, there will not be any additional amount to bill, therefore the final billing amount would stand at USD6Million.. Mark further claimed that when he spoke to my french bean boss the day before that there was indeed a projection to bill an additional USD740k but that would depend on the overall budgetary situation the day after..

As a result, the Mark had already informed SB (who is the China Site Financial Controller) that there wont be additional billing and the number stays at 6Million.

I further quipped on the USD140k that my boss mentioned in his sms reply.. And according to Mark, there was no such discussion pertaining to that value.. I was already shaking my head la..

So I decided to sms my boss after obtaining the desired information.

Juanito: Mark has decided that there will be no additional billing from China. He has spoken to SB and they have agreed. The final agreed number will be 6Million.

(At this point onwards I wanted to vomit blood)

French Bean: Then we are short of USD140k. Can you pls check?

Juanito: I confirmed with Mark. There is nothing spoken of the USD140k. The final number for China to bill is USD6Mil. Meanwhile the USD740k Mark spoke of the product relocation will not be billed and will be shifted to Q4.

French Bean: My point is compare to the current status how much do the site need to bill?

(When I received this sms, I went from wanted to nearly vomited blood)

Juanito: There is another 1.2Million to go to close 6Mil.

French Bean: Ok, then call SB to confirm that he has what he needs to bill..

(Upon receiving this sms, I was like “Huh?!?!, wtf???”)

Juanito: SB already agreed on the number that he will bill to close at 6million, as spoken to Mark.

French Bean: This is not what I ask. Does he have all he needs to bill this 6Mil??

(At this point I got pissed and I replied him the following)

Juanito: You KNN Mah Chau Cibai.. Told you already, you dont fucking understand isit, you dick head??

Just kidding..I never replied him that… Below was my reply to him and he never replied after that..

Juanito: Yes he has! I am saying that he has committed that he can bill the balance 1.2Mil.

Ok, I am open to feedbacks now.. If I say I wasnt wrong, then you guys will bombard me upside down and say that I am ego maniacal not to realize my mistakes.. I would like to know where was the communication breakdown?

Truly Uniquely Singapore (in many good and bad ways)… Malaysia sure can learn a thing or two from Singapore’s success in hosting its maiden F1 street night race…

Alonso created history to be the 1st driver to win the 1st night race in the history of F1.. Boo Hoo!!

SG F1 - Here I come…

Sept is the month that I love most and you know why? No lah, not because of Lee Kuan Yew’s birthday la, kane… Speaking of birthdays, I have many who celebrate theirs bdays in September like my dad, Juanita, LKY, my friends, my ex gfs, my ex bfs, my gay and lesbian friends, my dogs and cats and many others more…

It is not about bdays in September but it is the time when I get to watch new season
of American series like House MD, Supernatural, Prison Break, etc…

Supernatural

The infamous Dr House

The running out of steam Prison Break

The not so heroically anticipated Heroes

The Terminator - Sarah Connor Chronicles

Sarah Connor Testicles Chronicles, House MD, Supernatural and Prison Break already premiered its new season in the past 2 or 3 weeks ago… If I am not mistaken Heroes premiered S3 a few nites ago.

Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) is just hot hot hot!!! I am not into guys btw..

I couldnt help it to know how Heroes progressed in the new Season (S3) so I read the spoiler in IMDB.. Tell you the truth, Tim Kring is running out of ideas and Heroes is getting no where heroically exciting anymore.. It is getting to be more like heroically stupid and out of context… Dont trust me, read the spoiler below. (Dont say I didnt warn you)..

Heroes S3 Epi 1 Spoiler
“….5 years from now, Peter realizes that they made a great mistake by telling the world about their powers. So he goes back in time and shoots Nathan right before he tells the world about them. Present Time Peter and Matt chase Future Peter and he ends up sending Present Peter into the body of a deadly villain and Matt is sent all the way to Africa. Nathan survives the shooting with the help of Linderman, and he has a new respect for life and God. Hiro and Ando receive a message from Hiro’s father about a formula that could kill the world locked-up in the family safe. Hiro finds it, but it gets stolen by a women named Daphne, who has quick agility….”

Damn, didnt realize Amaury Nolasco’s body was that cut… Should see how much more cut (no such word as cutter ok??) he is in Max Payne.

Anyways, do you know what day is today? Of course la it is Friday… but this Friday is a little different…. Today is the THE DAY, the glorious day, the day when everyone has been waiting for (well at least I know I am one of them) when Singapore hosts its maiden F1 GP which is also the first ever night race in the history of F1…. Hip Hip Hooray! Malaysia Bodoh!! (what has it got to do with Malaysia btw??)

Juanito will be out tomorrow and Sunday for the F1 event in Kiasuland… So dont miss me.. I will be back next week with loads of cum, I mean F1 pics..

Making great strides

Looks like I will be posting 4 articles today before I go on a 2.5-day MIA mission..

We, as in Malaysia is definitely making headway for being in the limelight for the wrong reason….

Reason 1 is this

Pic courtesy of ahmike.net and source from alphanatic.com

Read here for more…

Reason 2 is this

Malaysia is in the top five countries whose citizens are consistently being denied entry into Britain. If that is not bad enough, Malaysians are also among the top 10 nationalities who overstay and in the top 20 for overall immigration abuses.

Source: The Star

Reason 3 is this

MPAJ officers tore down temple despite state govt saying no

Therefore, let us all say together now..

MALAYSIA BODOH BOLEH

Another voice from Singapore

In my former blog, and also in my current blog, I wrote and even posted some archived articles on Life related. It is not me alone who see the world differently. Many others can too and it is just your willingness to understand and accept. The greatest achievement of one is acceptance, various kinds of life acceptance…. For instance, to accept humility, to accept what fear is, admittance of the right and the wrong, standing up to what you believe and amongst many others; whilst in the pursuit of accepting these, ensuring that one truly understands the reasoning behind….

I am sharing some of the links that I have written previously on Life, it applies to everyone …

- Let Us Reflect On Our Actions
- Hokkien - The Pride of Penang
- I See Stupid People
- I See Stupid People Again
- Forgive and Forget
- Greed
- Knowing Fear Part 1 , Part 2  and Final Part
- Tu Kau Lan
- What the hell is this?
- What a message from a PM
- Self Reflection Part 2

This will come helpful with the article that I am posting up today courtesy of Hardware-Zone. This piece below was written by none other than LKY’s daughter was sent to me by a loved one.
___

Another voice from Singapore ………. Mr Lee’s daughter speaks up!

Written by Lee Kuan Yew’s daughter, Lee Wei Ling.

Read it to the end, What a difference in attitude from her father and brother Lee Hsien Loong

By Lee Wei Ling

I was born and bred in Singapore . This is my home, to which I am tied by family and friends.
Yet many Singaporeans find me eccentric, though most are too polite to verbalise it.
I only realised how eccentric I am when one friend pointed out to me why I could not use my own yardstick to judge others.
I dislike intensely the elitist attitude of some in our upper socio-economic class.
I have been accused of reverse snobbery because I tend to avoid the wealthy who flaunt their wealth ostentatiously or
do not help the less fortunate members of our society.

I treat all people I meet as equals, be it a truck driver friend or a patient and friend who belongs to the richest family in Singapore .
I appraise people not by their usefulness to me but by their character.
I favour those with integrity, compassion and courage.
I feel too many among us place inordinate emphasis on academic performance, job status, appearance and presentation.

I am a doctor and director of the smallest public sector hospital in Singapore , the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI).
I have 300 staff, of whom 100 are doctors.
I emphasise to my doctors that they must do their best for every patient regardless of paying status.
I also appraise my doctors on how well they care for our patients, not by how much money they bring in for NNI.
My doctors know I have friends who are likely to come in as subsidised patients.
I warn them that if I find them not treating any subsidised patient well, their appraisal - and hence bonus and annual salary increments - would be negatively affected.
My doctors know I will do as I say.
I remind them that the purpose of our existence and the measure of our success is how well we care for all our patients - and that this is the morally correct way to behave and should be the reason why we are doctors.
In NNI , almost all patients are given the best possible treatment regardless of their paying status.

My preference for egalitarianism extends to how I interact with my staff.
I am director because the organisation needs a reporting structure.
But my staff are encouraged to speak out when they disagree with me.
This tends to be a rarity in several institutions in Singapore .
The fear that one’s career path may be negatively affected is what prevents many people from speaking out.
This reflects poorly on leadership. In many organisations, superiors do not like to be contradicted by those who work under them.

Intellectual arrogance is a deplorable attitude.
‘Listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story,’ the Desiderata tells us.
It is advice we should all heed - especially leaders, especially doctors.
I speak out when I see something wrong that no one appears to be trying to correct.
Not infrequently, I try to right the wrong.
In doing so, I have stepped on the sensitive toes of quite a few members of the establishment.
As a result, I have been labelled ‘anti-establishment’. Less kind comments include:

I am indifferent to these untrue criticisms; I report to my conscience;
and I would not be able to face myself if I knew that there was a wrong that I could have righted but failed to do so.

I have no protective godfather. My father, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, would not interfere with any disciplinary measures that might be meted out to me.
And I am not anti-establishment. I am proud of what Singapore has achieved.
But I am not a mouthpiece of the government.
I am capable of independent thought and I can view problems or issues from a perspective that others may have overlooked.

A few months ago, I gave a talk on medical ethics to students of our Graduate Medical School .
They sent me a thank-you card with a message written by each student.
One wrote: ‘You are a maverick, yet you are certainly not anti-establishment.
You obey the moral law.’
Another wrote: ‘Thank you for sharing your perspective with us and being the voice that not many dare to take.’
It would be better for Singapore ’s medical fraternity if the young can feel this way about all of us in positions of authority.

After the Sars epidemic in 2003, the Government began to transform Singapore into a vibrant city with arts and cultural festivals, and soon, integrated resorts and night F1.
But can we claim to be a civilised first world country if we do not treat all members of our society with equal care and dignity?
There are other first world countries where the disparity between the different socio- economic classes is much more extreme and social snobbery is even worse than in Singapore . But that is no excuse for Singaporeans not to try harder to treat each other with dignity and care.

After all, both the Bible and Confucius tell us not to treat others in a way that we ourselves would not want to be treated.
That is a moral precept that many societies accept in theory, but do not carry out in practice.

I wish Singapore could be an exception in this as it has been in many other areas where we have surprised others with our success.

The writer is director of the National Neuroscience Institute.
Think-Tank is a weekly column rotated among eight heads of research and tertiary institutions.

Tiger FC, here I come

I was reading KY Speaks and one of his articles caught my attention and subsequently I didnt even think twice and I decided to join the Tiger FC Fantasy League..

I remember many years ago while I was back then in Bodohland, I joined several Fantasy Leagues (from William Hill to ESPN Soccernet to Soccer Mamak and what not) but I didnt have the focus and time to manage the team, hence abandoning the team halfway thru the season… needless to say, I didnt win anything as well..

I hope this time around I wont be doing that again. Anyways, I signed up for Tiger FC Fantasy League, created my own team, Bloghead FC and I joined KY’s mini league hoping the beat the crap out of his team… Hopefully la…

This is my choice of manager, a Scandinavian master of tactician, and you guys out there should know who… Sven Goran Eriksson is 1 of my all-time favorite managers and he just has this great foresight in identifying up and coming potential football players just like when he called up Theo Walcott to the senior team in the 2006 World Cup. Just look at Theo Walcott today!

This is my team setup, a 4-3-3 formation.. I never believed that 4-4-2 was always an effective formation for a very simple logic… what can 2 strikers do when they have to face 4 defenders at the back? Having 2 strikers trying to penetrate the defence marshalled by 4 defenders is like throwing vodka bombs on the Berlin wall, hoping for it to collapse..

In short, there is not much variation of attacking with 2 strikers upfront. 1 very explicit example was the game between Liverpool vs Stoke City last week (I nearly vormitted blood watching that game)… Liverpool played a 4-4-2 formation with Torres and Keane as the 2 main strikers, meanwhile Kuyt as a natural striker was given the right wing job… Wth, a striker being made a right wing to play in midfield?!?!? At the end of the game, Pool had 30 over shots at goal, and the result was….. 0-0 at Full Time!! I bet you get my drift at this point..

So, here it is my hopeful dream team, managed by Gianfranco Zola… Obviously it aint my ultimate dream team since I am only given 115M pounds to buy 11 players plus a manager.. If I had the riches of Roman Abramovich, I would have bought the world’s best and most expensive players then… Unfortunately, I cant…

I wanted to buy Christiano Ronaldo and Captain Maverick (Stevie G) but then I would have to sacrifice at least my 4 defenders then..

Finally, there are prizes to be won… As you can already see, a trip for 2 to UK and many other great prizes like dildos, vibrators… nah just kidding; great prizes like Nintendo DS, Ipod and lots more others are in store..

2008 FHM World’s Sexiest

Juanito has never been wrong in identifying beautiful and sexy women… In my older blog hosted by the damn Go Daddy, I spoke highly on the beauty of Natalie Portman, Jessica Alba and Megan Fox including the sultry and sexy Angelina Jolie.

Back then, I wrote about how beautiful and sexy they were and they are still in fact beautiful and sexy… I guess my foresight in beautiful yet sexy women is my forte.. hehe

While I was blogging on Go Daddy then, I also wrote about how good an actor Shia Lebouef was and how the movie Transformers transformed Megan Fox overnite into super stardom. Damn, I need to repost that article one day.

Anyways, let me introduce you to the 2008 World’s Sexiest Woman – MEGAN FOX…. Megan Fox man!!! She is the newest world’s MOST SEXIEST woman… Ok I know I cant have 2 superlatives to describe how sexy Megan Fox is but who gives a damn… I care less for the fact that Megan Fox is the latest edition of the World’s MOST SEXIEST Woman…

Megan Fox took over the helm from last year’s winner, Jessica Alba.. See, I told you that I just have the eye for beautiful and sexy women… Out of the 4 women I wrote about, 2 are have beens and 1 is the newly crowned sexiest woman… That is a 75% hit rate… Huh!

And you know what? Megan Fox is just crazy over Olivia Wilde.. Damn! Olivia Wilde is 1 of my favorites too…. In case you do not know who Olivia Wilde is, she acts as No.13 in House MD.

I cant copy any of the pics from The Sun UK but you can view them here (or click on this link to access straight to the gallery).. Make sure that you view them… You will bleed from your nose, eyes, ears and even your backside.

You can check the FHM 2008 World’s Sexiest Woman Alive here….
